At Least 12 Seniors Identified as Victims in Sexual Offence Investigation at Saint John Nursing Home
/Police in Saint John, New Brunswick are investigating offences of a sexual nature at Loch Lomond Villa, a long term care and nursing home facility in the city, after at least 12 residents between their 70s and 90s were identified as victims.
Saint John Police say they were alerted by Loch Lomond Villa last week and have since notified the families of those affected. Investigators believe more victims may be identified. Police have confirmed a suspect has been identified, but say the individual is neither an employee nor a resident of the facility. No charges have been announced at this time.
Loch Lomond Villa CEO Ashley King says on site security has been added and that the facility is reviewing and strengthening safety procedures. Police say steps are in place to ensure residents are safe, and a dedicated phone line has been established for affected families. Anyone with information is urged to contact Saint John Police.
